So, let’s dive into a detailed coaching on how to put on make-up! When applying your makeup, you want to start by preparing your face. Your cleanser should be hypoallergenic, gentle and it’s a good idea to have a light exfoliant in it. The skin on your face is very sensitive and it does not take much to irritate it and cause rashes or breakouts. Washing your face is the same whether you are in teh shower or at the sink, apply a small, pea-sized amount of lotion onto your face, and softly rub it into your face using an upward motion on your cheeks and a sideways motion on your forehead. Age will at some point affect all of us and this movements now will help to delay the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on your face. Even though your face may be fresh and youthful now, you don’t want to do anything that might accelerate the aging process. Next, the cleanser should be gently and thoroughly rinsed off your face, and then you should pat your face dry with a soft warm towel.
Your face will feel amazingly soft and smooth. The next step is to use a good moisturizer to prevent drying, itching and flaking. A good choice of moisturizer is if it is lightweight, helps absorb oil throughout the day and does not feel greasy. A little will go a long way, a small amount the size of a pea should be gently massaged into your face. As you apply your moisturizer use the same upwards motion previously discussed. Continue massaging moisturizer into your face until your skin has absorbed all of the lotion. This will feel amazingly refreshing.
In order to be good at how to put on make-up, it is important that you build a strong foundation. Some people prefer not to use foundation and that is perfectly acceptable. However, foundation does act as a barrier that protects your face from the pollution, contaminants and other irritants that you encounter everyday. Even the sun and wind can irritate your face’s sensitive skin. Using foundation will help to protect this sensitive from the elements. A foundation with a mild sunscreen can also help to protect your face from sunburns, and can make a big difference. It is important that you choose the right color, if the tone you pick is too light or dark for your face it will look painted on and awkward. Ideally, you want your foundation to appear completely natural. For a warm look and healthful glow, avoid darker foundations. Bronzers a better bet, and we will discuss those in more detail later. The color of your neck is generally a good spot to match your foundation to. This will help you to choose the most natural color for your skin tone. The foundation should be well blended into your face and completely absorbed before continuing with your makeup application. Triangle sponges are wonderful for blending your foundation.
Next you will want to conceal any blemishes. Most people have some at least some imperfections on their face at any given time. For your concealer you will want to choose a slightly lighter shade than your foundation. You can apply the concealer before or after you apply your foundation, but it is usually preferable to apply the foundation first. To apply the concealer, apply a small amount on the tip of your ring finger, and lightly dab the concealer onto the blemishes. Typically, concealer is required directly under the eye and on any visible pimples. Allow the concealer to dry for a few seconds, then blend it into your skin for a smooth transition and natural appearance. If necessary, you can apply foundation over the concealer to blend it more evenly. Allow the concealer and additional foundation to be fully absorbed into your skin.
So let’s continue with our tutorial on how to put on make-up…..Finish the look with powder. For this you will want a large, soft, powder brush. Using a loose or pressed powder after your foundation is applies will help set the make up. Lightly dip your brush into the powder for a medium coating at the end of the brush. If you are using a loose powder, tap the end of the brush on the counter so that excess powder will fall from the bristles before it actually touches your face. Using downward strokes, lightly run the brush over entire face, this will give your skin a lovely matte look. When applying loose powder is the only time you will want to use a downwards motion on your face. It is a fact that all women have some “peach fuzz” on our faces and brushing the powder on with a downwards motion will help those hairs lay flat and be less noticeable. Once the powder is evenly applied you will be ready for the next step.
Here are some tips for making your makeup last all day. After all, you don’t want to go through all this only to have it wear off a few hours into your day. For eyes, an eye shadow primer will help your eye shadow last all day. Apply this to your eyes before any makeup and your eye shadow and liner will stay exactly where you want them. Doesn’t that sound fantastic? Now for the fun part of dressing up those amazing eyes. Eyeliner is a great place to start. If you prefer not to wear eyeliner, then skip this step.
The first question with eyeliner is which one you will use: liquid or pencil. There are advantages to both of these. Liquid eyeliner will give a long lasting, smudgeproof, clear and precise line. However, after you apply it you will have to wait for it to dry, and that can be tricky. Pencils will give you a sensual, sultry quality and can be easier to work with. However, pencil eyeliners also tend to smudge. Beginning at the inner corner of the eye, you should apply a thin line along your upper lashes. If you have chosen to use liquied liner, you should fan it dry, then open your eye and see how it looks. Is it too thin for your taste? Apply the line again, making it thicker. Is it too thick now? Using a q tip dipped lightly in water, you can remove some of the liner until you have the line you are seeking. You can also make your eyes appear larger by making the liner thicker as you more towards the outer corners of your eyes. You can repeat this process on the lower lash line, or you can line just the inner rim of your eye.
Now get ready for the amazing look of eye shadow. It may sound cliche, but eye shadow can make your eyes look incredible. There are so many different possibilities with your eye shadow. But we will just cover the basics. The first thing you should decide is what color family you will use in your eye shadow. Pink and blue are always popular, as well as neutrals and earth tones like brown, peach and tans. From your chosen color group, take a color that is close to your skin tone, plus one that is a shade darker and another that is slightly brighter and one more that is much lighter; for example: pin, darker mauve, hot pink and pale pink. With an eye shadow sponge, you will want to apply the darkest or brightest color along the crease, that area in the dip between the lid and brow bone, taking care to apply the shadow more heavily toward the outer half. Using the medium shade and an eye shadow brush, dust this color over the lid and smudge the edges with the darker color to blend the two together. Wipe your brush off on a towel or piece of toilet paper before swiping it through the lightest color. This color should be swept along the brow bone. You can find tips for more ways to apply eye shadow in our other tips section.
So now, on the how to put on make-up journey, we got to the point where it is time to show off those lashes! The crowning touch for your eyes is your mascara. It is not very versatile, but it can be the most important piece that you will use. It’s a good idea to begin by curling your lashes with a metal eye lash curler. Simply place the tool at the base of your lashes and gently squeeze the handle. Before applying your mascara, dab the tip of the wand on a towel to remove excess, then place the brush at the base of your eyelashes, directly under your lashes. As you pull the wans up through your lashes, wiggle it for amazing coverage. Repeat this until you have the look you desire for your lashes. The bottom lashes are not as important, but just a quick swipe will work, or a very heavy coat depending on your personal taste.
Next it is time to take on some blush. This is the simplest of all. You will need your blush, a mid-sized blush brush, and to remember to use an upwards motion. The apple of your cheek is typically right below the middle of your eye, you should begin here and brush outward toward your hairline, being careful to lift the brush away from your face toward the edge to blend the color. This will focus the color right at the apple and blend it outwards toward the hairline for an attractive, natural look. A triangle sponge can be used for further blending.
Finally we are ready to touch up those lips. When it comes to dressing up lips, the sky is the limit when it comes to your options. You can choose between lipstick and gloss. With lipstick you can chose matte or metallic. Gloss can be shimmery or shiny and the only that matte, all depending on your own personal taste. If you use a liner, you should choose a neutral or natural shade. This will allow you to change things around during the day by applying a different color lipstick or gloss. If you are really feeling bold you can try a shade that is darker than your actual lip color. To apply liner, hold it as if it were a pencil. Using light strokes, line the outer edge of your lips, beginning at the center of the top and working outwards and down. You may want to lightly stroke the liner on the inside sections of your lips so that at the color will blend and not be a terribly strong line. If you don’t wear lipstick, then simply pass over this step. With your lipstick in hand, start in the middle of the top lip again, and work your way out and down. Rub the lipstick back and forth until you have the amount you wish on your lips, then smack your lips together for a completely consistent and smooth appearance. A lightly colored lip gloss can be applied over your lipstick for a nice, finished, attractive appearance. Lip gloss is applied just as the lipstick is. Again, you will want to smack your lips together to be sure it is all blended and there are no smudges.
I hope the above tutorial on how to put on make-up will help you improve your technique, good luck!
